Getting Qualiopi involves two separate expenses: preparation support, if you choose to use it, and the audit fees invoiced by the certification body. Two cost items not to be confused

The first item is preparation: understanding the National Quality Framework, bringing your practices into compliance and gathering evidence. You can handle it yourself or entrust it to a consultant.

The second item is the audit itself. Only a certification body accredited by Cofrac (or in the process of accreditation), or a labelling body recognised by France compétences, can issue the certification (article L6316-2 of the French Labour Code). The list of certifiers is published on the website of the ministry in charge of vocational training (article R6316-3). The audit is always invoiced by the certifier, in addition to the support and separately from it.

What drives the cost of support

Your starting point. An organisation that already has detailed programmes, dated satisfaction questionnaires and a complaints register does not face the same workload as one starting from scratch.
The size of your organisation. The number of trainers, sessions and processes to document increases the volume of evidence.
The number of categories of actions. Article L6313-1 distinguishes four categories: training actions, skills assessments (bilans de compétences), actions for the validation of prior experience (VAE) and apprenticeship training actions. Each category added to the scope calls for specific indicators and evidence.
Your deadline. A tight schedule concentrates the work into a few weeks.

The typical duration is 4 to 9 weeks between the mock audit and the certification audit, plus the time it takes for the certifier to be available. You receive a costed proposal within 48 hours.

What drives certification fees

Each certifier sets its own rates. Several parameters weigh on the quote:

Audit duration. The audit rules provide that the duration of each audit varies with the turnover related to the training activity. The longer the audit, the higher the cost.
The number of sites. For a multi-site organisation, one or more sites may be audited.
The scope. Each certified category of actions widens the audit scope.
The format. An on-site audit generally involves travel expenses that a remote audit avoids.

Also consider the full cycle. The certification is issued for three years (article R6316-2), and the cycle includes an initial audit, a surveillance audit, then a renewal audit if you wish to keep the certification. Each of these audits is invoiced by the certifier. To compare quotes, reason over three years rather than the initial audit alone.

Preparing alone or with support

Preparing alone is possible. The reading guide to the National Quality Framework is published by the Ministry of Labour and details, indicator by indicator, the expected level and examples of evidence. This option suits organisations with internal time available, someone comfortable with quality processes and a flexible deadline.

Support brings an outside view of your evidence, a method and a schedule. It does not replace your own work: it is your organisation that is audited, and your team that answers the auditor. The choice therefore depends mainly on three questions: how much internal time can you commit, how much audit experience do you have, and what is your deadline?

Costs that are often overlooked

Internal time. Writing or revising programmes, formalising processes, collecting evidence: this time has a cost, whether or not you have support.
Tools. Satisfaction questionnaires, attendance tracking, complaint management, monitoring: some organisations acquire tools or subscriptions at this stage.
Ongoing updates. Compliance is checked again at the surveillance audit. Decree no. 2026-728 of 1 August 2026 updates the national framework and enters into force on 1 November 2026: allow time to adapt your practices.
The risk of delay. A major non-conformity requires corrective actions within three months, verified by the certifier before any decision. In the meantime, the certification is not issued.

Can the support be funded?

Qualiopi support is a consulting service. It is not among the actions contributing to skills development listed in article L6313-1. Funding options therefore depend on schemes specific to each funder, which change over time. Before signing, ask your OPCO what it can cover in your situation, and ask for a written answer.
