AI and the Transformation of Education: 2026-2030

AI and the Transformation of Education: 2026-2030

Between 2026 and 2030, artificial intelligence will profoundly transform the way we learn, teach, assess and certify skills. But this transformation will be neither uniform nor instantaneous: it will affect universities, grandes écoles, private schools, training organizations and vocational training in different ways.

This prospective study analyzes the main disruptions ahead and seeks to answer one central question: what happens to the value of an educational or training institution when AI makes content abundant, individualized tutoring accessible and traditional assessment increasingly fragile?

The finding: value is shifting from content toward coaching

This is the major finding: the value of education will gradually shift from content toward what AI reproduces less easily, namely coaching, experience, real-world practice, certification, proof of competence and social capital. Training organizations built solely on producing standardized content are among the most exposed, while institutions able to offer a differentiating experience, a network, research or genuine skills transformation benefit from new levers.

The pedagogical rupture: AI tutors, adaptive learning paths and authentic assessment

The other rupture is pedagogical. AI tutors and adaptive learning paths make personalization possible at a scale that was previously difficult to reach. At the same time, assessment must be rethought: remote exams, essays and productions easily generated by AI progressively lose their value as proof of competence. Institutions must therefore move toward more authentic assessment, real-world scenarios, oral examination and skills portfolios.

The challenge for education players is therefore no longer simply to adopt AI, but to understand how it transforms their pedagogical model, their value proposition and their economic model.

How Mentivis can support you

Mentivis supports educational and training institutions in this transformation at three levels.

Diagnose

Identify the programs, pedagogies, processes and sources of value most exposed to AI, as well as those that can be strongly enhanced.

Rethink the educational model

Reposition learning paths around personalization, AI tutoring, experience, real-world practice and proof of competence. The goal is to move from a model centered on content delivery to a model centered on the real development of skills.

Deploy

Turn this strategy into concrete systems: assessment redesign, AI-enhanced learning paths, acculturation of teachers and trainers, modularization of programs, and large-scale integration of AI solutions, notably with MentivisOS. The study's recommendations place these transformations among the priorities to be launched as of 2026.

Our conviction

The institutions that win will not be those that add the most AI to their current model, but those that know how to rethink their educational model based on what AI now makes possible.
